WHAT EXACTLY DOES A PERSONAL TRAINER DO?

At Robert Smith Training, it is our job to teach and motivate you towards your goals. We will evaluate your current physical well being and mindset towards health and exercise in our one hour free consultation using various testings. After our initial evaluation we will create a customised program based on your specific goals and working around your lifestyle needs. During regular sessions I will coach you through your plan and provide periodic re-testing to ensure we are on track to smash your goals. A personal trainer offers one on one teachings that maximise time and value, really helping you to get where you want to be faster.

WHERE CAN I HAVE MY PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS?

Robert Smith Training has a home facility located in Karaka Lakes, South Auckland, just a minute from the Papakura motorway ramp. The facility contains all equipment required for any style of workout that will help you achieve your goals.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR TRAINER AT A GYM?

When it comes to value for money and ensuring you're getting the absolute best out of your trainer, you just cannot beat one on one  or duo training sessions. When training in a regular gym it can get overcrowded and queues start forming for certain machines. This can mean constantly changing up the sessions plan, getting distracted by others and feeling self-conscious. However, at Robert Smith Training you will have the full focus of your trainer, access to the full range of equipment and a private space that isn't filled with gym-goers. There are so many other benefits such as extensive testing, including range of motion and posture, regularly reviewed food logs, technique focus, control over the music, at home workouts and plans and achievement awards.

DO YOU HAVE ANY GROUP CLASSES I CAN JOIN?

Absolutely!
We currently run Boot Camps twice weekly in the evenings on Wednesdays and mornings on Saturday. Group classes are suitable for all fitness levels and experience. Please get in touch for further details or to reserve your spot.

I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT/ RUN FASTER/ LIFT HEAVIER / TOUCH MY TOES! CAN ROBERT SMITH TRAINING HELP WITH THAT?

Absolutely! We provide a mixture of programs that feature resistance training, cardio training and flexibility training. By tailoring a program to your needs we can ensure that you hit your goal, no matter what that may be. Whether you're after fat loss, lean muscle gain or increased strength, endurance or flexibility, we have got you covered.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANY EQUIPMENT?

Robert Smith Training will provide all equipment needed. However if you do have fitness equipment at home and you would like to be shown how to use this correctly, some effective exercises or to incorporate into your program, we can certainly help with that also.

I HAVE A PAST INJURY, CAN I STILL TRAIN?

Yes, providing medical clearance, you are still able to train. Please advise us of all past and present injuries at the consultation so we can work with you to provide a rehabilitation plan and adapt any exercises needed. We can then focus on strengthening weaker areas and learning the correct techniques to provide safe recovery and minimise injury risk in future. If your injury is current please ensure you have consulted with a healthcare professional before under-going physical exercise.

CAN I JUST EXERCISE TO GET MY IDEAL BODY?

Unfortunately anything worth achieving doesn't come without hard work and some sacrifices. To achieve fat loss and lean muscle gain nutrition is key, incorporating a balanced diet with steady exercise will provide you with the highest chance of succeeding at your goals. We can run through a food log to keep track of your daily habits and make suggestions that are realistic and beneficial for you, be that food substitutions, recipes or implementing nutrition plans.

I'M NEW TO EXERCISE OR PERSONAL TRAINING. WILL ROBERT SMITH TRAINING BE SUITABLE?

Here at Robert Smith Training we cater to all fitness levels, experience and people of all motivations. As a qualified personal trainer, I have the knowledge to tailor design our programs for new starters in exercise to advanced fitness clients. This is all done in a motivating environment where ensuring your comfort and acknowledging achievements remain top priority.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WITH ROBERT SMITH TRAINING WORK?

Accepted methods of payment: Bank Transfer.

Personal Training sessions are to be paid for prior prior to session and payments are to be made on a weekly basis.

Large group sessions such as workplace boot camps will require a 50% non-refundable booking fee and then the full amount paid 1 week in advance to the first session. 

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Cancellations prior to 24 hours before your session will be added as credit to your account with Robert Smith Training and a mutual suitable time rescheduled. If you cannot reschedule the session due to availability, we will ensure the credit is put towards your next regular scheduled session.

 

If you are cancelling within 24 hours of a session or you do not show up for your session time, a credit for this session will not be given and you will still be charged full price for this. It is to be noted that we may use this session time to develop new home programs or work on your future session plans where applicable.

 

We do understand that circumstances can change within this 24 hour window, and to assist in providing flexibility, we are happy to provide a once-monthly grace cancellation where the session fee will not be charged.

 

If your trainer needs to cancel with over 24 hours notification a full refund will be offered, or you may reschedule at a time that is suitable for both parties within the following 7 days. If your trainer cancels or needs to reschedule within the 24 hour window prior to your session, any prior payments for that session will go straight to your account as credit or refunding at your decision
